HISTORY

Concorso d’Eleganza Kyoto 2018

Featuring “Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera”

Once again, the event took place in the “Ninomaru Palace Courtyard” of World Heritage Site,
Nijo-jo Castle, an area that is normally closed to the public.

A special exhibition centered around “Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera” featured a collection of
manufactured by Carrozzeria Touring of Italy vintage cars from around the world.
These included the “1952 ALFA ROMEO 1900 C52 DISCO VOLANTE” from the ALFA ROMEO Museum
as well as four of the only eight “ALFA ROMEO 8C DISCO VOLANTE by TOOLING” ever produced.

One of these was the commemorative special edition “Last of the Line C52 Vintage Edition,”
produced as the eighth and final car in the series.

With so many new and old “DISCO VOLANTE” all together in one place,
it was an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime exhibition.
