Concorso d’Eleganza Kyoto 2019
Featuring “ZAGATO 100th Anniversary”
“LAMBORGHINI POLO STORICO”
For the third time, the event took place in the “Ninomaru Palace Courtyard” of World Heritage Site, Nijo-jo Castle,
an area that is normally closed to the public, a site boasting over 400 years of tradition.
This edition was the first to receive official recognition as an international “Concours d'Elegance”
by FIVA (Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens).
This year’s special exhibition focused on the “ZAGATO 100th Anniversary,”
featuring a collection of vintage cars produced by Italy’s illustrious Carrozzeria Zagato, founded in 1919.
These vehicles are distinguished by their use of aircraft manufacturing techniques and
their pioneering beauty—lightweight, dynamic, and reminiscent of modern art.
It was a unique and valuable opportunity to experience the evolution of “ZAGATO” design from
the 1930s to the latest model, all in one place.
“LAMBORGHINI POLO STORICO” was also put in the spotlight.
The heritage division “LAMBORGHINI POLO STORICO” was established to restore, certify, document,
and supply genuine spare parts for classic Lamborghinis.
The feature showcased a stunning lineup of historic and coveted sports cars,
lending even more glamor to the concours.
In addition, the event hosted an exhibition of “Designs for the Cars of the Future by the Counts,”
featuring designs and sketches by Count Carlo Felice Trossi and Count Mario Revelli di Beaumont.
